Our goal at Cheveux Salon of Merriam is to be educated, up to date on all new hair techniques and professional hair care products. To understand each client as a unique individual.

As a young child Dahl knew that he would be a professional in hair care. He always loved going to the salon with his Mother just to sit and watch all the activity. Dahl became licensed by the state of Kansas in Nov. 1978 and also holds a state of New York Cosmetology license. During his lengthy career he has studied at the Trevor Sorbie Hair Academy, London, Eng. Owned two Hair Salons in NYC, and in Lawrence, KS. He also has done Television Commercial work. Dahl had the privilege of being a Redken Performing Artist for Redken 5th Ave. NY, NY. Over the years in the cosmetology business Dahl has witnessed all kinds of changes in the industry. He has noticed that the Hair salons are all turning into spas and has thought that the actual art of doing hair has become 2nd to spa services and retail marketing. Even though they are all very rewarding, Dahl realized that the "Hair Salon" has actually become virtually extinct. This is why he decided to take the challenge head on and open up "Cheveux Salon" of Merriam, KS. ("Cheveux" is French for hair) So as you can see we are devoted to one thing, Hair.
